FILM SET - JACKSON PARK

ON LOCATION

RE-SHOOTS & PICK-UP SHOTS

We were shooting in Jefferson Park down in the south side of Chicago. Getting there was up to me since my call time wasn’t until noon. Even so, this gave me plenty of time to go around the location and capture some high resolution B-roll Footage to match the shots they were getting. It was an intense shoot because we were shooting during times of high shrubbery in the late spring early fall of 2018. The issue with that was that this posed many obstacles for the drone aerially. One idea I proposed was that we use the drone as a stedi-cam and get some shots in tighter areas, since the DJI Phantom PRO 4K has a very beautiful 24 mm lenses built in.

The ensemble image started out as a set photo that I had intended to retouch, which only included the ghost boy and a few cast members scattered around the image which I removed with the clone stamp tool in Photoshop; but then the director came up to me with a select few of the set photos I had submitted and asked if we could merge four or five of them into the original wide shot of the environment and ghost kid. I instantly loved the idea and was on board for it; yet it was definitely one of the harder piece of art. Technically the original composite came out to just under 100 megapixel image coming in at about 7.7 GB!
